Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
Qualatively, without too much analysis, sales for MM seemed relatively unaffected by the large CA jackpot. CA often exceeds NY sales, but NY seems to have contributed the most to MM sales in general. There doesn't seem to have been much of a change, which is somewhat surprising.
According to my records there have been more than one winner only twice in the since switching from the Big Game to Megamillions. On 11/11/03 there were 3 winners of a $70M annuity jackpot and 2 winners of a

Mandatory Hot Lotto for MUSL States
I love the small multi-state games. I used to drive to KY to play LottoSouth. I would like TN to get into a small multi-state lottery (4-5 states), but I don't think any state should be required to participate. I like odds of 10-20million:1. In my opinion 145million:1 odds are way too long, you have mathematically no chance of winning. 5 People a year will win Powerball, I have a 100 times better chance of being killed at the mall by a terrorist. I still play PB, but not until it reaches 2

Powerball Sets A New Record
Yeah, $200+ million jackpots don't sell as many tickets as they used to, since the odds are stacked so high everyone expects the jackpots to get that big.

mega millions or powerball
I don't play either. I wish I can say I play them, but with the odds so high, I don't believe there is ANY system that can help you choose these numbers correctly. That being said, at 176M:1, I choose to put my money into the cash 5 which is a mere 658,000:1, and I haven't hit THAT yet.
If I wanted to play a higher odds game, I would go with the Pick 6. A few million is good enough for me!!!!

mega millions or powerball
The powerball website list the odds of hitting the correct powerball number as 1:68.96
How can the odds be that high with only 42 numbers to pick from?

New Game Idea
I'd probably play it, no more than two draws per week, and that would probably stop any other play, Pick 3, 4, Little Lotto, etc...
But the average prizes you suggest for the odds given are far more genrous than any lottery I can think of. This is from an Illinois lottery playslip:
(6/52)
Second prize (5 of 6) Odds 1:73,762.
The prizes for that run around $900-$1200. Granted you're talking a $5 ticket but when it comes to lotteris the difference between payoffs and true odds (wha

Where's the justice?ere, three of us go p
Well, every combination has the same exact odds against hitting as the first combination. Dice have no memory . I realize the more combos you play, the better the chances, but each combination of six numbers reduces the odds( 6/ 52) by 1, so20,358,250 : 1 becomes20,358,249 :1 theorhetically....So even if one had the means to play $1,000,000 worth (and they let them out of the asylum long enough to do so) then they would have taken20,358, 520:1 down to 19,358, 520:1.If someone ever does com
