Well, ThatScaryChick, he only went to two locations (store then lottery headquarters) to claim the ticket. The clerks the article references in the first paragraph were both, or all, at the SAME store. So, if a paranoid person, he might have felt that those clerks/friends were trying to make him lose out on legitimate monies due him ... simply to be spiteful to him. We don't know from this article. Although I do wonder why he didn't go to a second local vendor BEFORE being in such a huff/rag

Years ago my mother in law won over 1K on Fantasy 5. She and my then fiance asked me to claim it because I was single with 2 kids. I would pay less taxes was their rationale. While thinking they had lost their darn minds I politely declined. She then proceeded to mail it to Florida Lottery Headquarters. Amazingly, she got a check back in the mail weeks later. She managed a convinence store and said she couldn't get away to claim it (or was just using that as an excuse) It was only a 2 hour drive

Nope, sorry. When one reads the back of Illinois lottery tickets, states that all prizes winners agree to use of their image/likeness. So masks are out, unfortunately, for Illinois Lottery Headquarters! [However, I would still enter Lottery Headquarters wearing my mask and wig and beg to be allowed to leave them on.] Sad story, poisoning (by self of other person) is usually a painful way to die.
