Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle - XXIV
Thank you for the kind words. Would be neat to work for the lottery doing marketing. PA Lottery does very well as it is, but much of that is due to inertia. Among the first lotteries, running 40+ years, etc. Proposed on-line lottery purchasing will likely boost sales, though could cannibalize some sales from brick and mortar lottery retailers. Biggest challenge is enticing younger players under age ~35 (millennials) who by and large aren't overly excited about the lottery; many rarely play.

Florida Lottery Holiday Millionaire Raffle
I purchased one ticket on 11/22. It was in the 48K range. I purchased a second today (11/26). It was in the 79K range. So they sold 30K+ tickets from the 22nd through the 26th. Travelers for Thanksgiving probably helped boost sales I would imagine.
I decided to get off the interstate and see some countryside . If anyone doesn't know, Florida countryside has pine trees. Lots and lots of pine trees. Pine tree farms, pine tree forests, pine tree lots, and pine tree woods. Did I mention the pine

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
I was clicking around the PA Lottery website trying to figure out where the Raffle countdown is located. They say it's in their app. But no dice, at least on Android. Anyways, while browsing, I saw mention of #millionaireraffle, so I searched that on Twitter, and saw some insightful comments.
Saw a tweet from someone who has frequently played and yet never won anything. Nothing earth shattering there, but a common complaint from regular raffle players. Seemingly, many have cutback / given up

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
I'd like to ask a question regarding Overall paybacK. I guess I'm looking more for clarification than anything else.
In his post a day or so ago, Ron5995 wrote;
Another way to decide whether to go heavy on the raffle, is to view it this way. At 400,000 tickets sold, the overall payback percentage of ~64% is still somewhat worse than $20 instant games, which often have 70-75% payback, available right now, everyday. However, if one has reasonable confidence in ticket sales being far below

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
My guess is that there will be a surge in ticket sales during the last week they're on sale. I mean it always happens.... never seen a raffle drawing without a surge.
IMHO, there's multiple reasons why there's a surge. I've seen a late surge in sales of Connecticut's SuperDraw raffle, and because the phenomenon isn't unique to PA, I'm leaning toward there being a surge for this current raffle.
So what's the number one reason for a surge??
I really don't know what the number one cause i

The PA Lottery Ripped Me Off Again ... Part 2
HoLeeKau ... yes, the self-serve machines actually show the ticket ... date, cost and the numbers being played. However, if you put a play slip into the machine with numbers being played, you don't see the window ... the ticket just prints. Only when a person manually picks their numbers on the terminal window glass, then you get to see your actual ticket before you hit Purchase.
I had a card filled out for just one drawing and my mistake was having $26 already in the machine and it grabbed $

Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle is Now SEASONAL
Holy Smokes CW!
Somehow I knew this new thread about the new seasonal Millionaire Raffle would catch your eye.
And... you've asked the million dollar question too... how many tix they gonna sell??? If they start selling them in Sept, then I would guess they could sell 500,000. But if they go on sale later than Sept, I dunno how many they could sell, or if they could even sell all 500,000 of 'em out.
As for me and my gang, I gotta see what the boys wanna do. Twunny bugs for one ticket

PA Raffle Countdown to 500,000 ...
If memory serves me correctly, peak sales will be in the 20K-30K per day range the final few days. Even at 20,000 tickets sold everyday from here on out, sales will come short. PA Lottery will do its darnedest to avoid that; running more ads, and, as a last resort, discounting raffle tickets by a dollar or two.
My hunch is the lower pace of sales is due to a few things: competition from casinos, etc - more gaming choices than ever, the economy, and player fatigue - many have played the raffle
