The 120 Core P-3 Numbers (first 60)
Odds for a 6 way box is 1/166. Which means there are 166 possible combinations. Of these 166 possible combinations for a 6 way box you picked 120 combinations. Which can be expressed as 120/166. Which can also be expressed as your 120 picks is 72% of the total possible combinations(166). If your hits average 72%, and you pick 72% of the possible number combinations, I really don't see how this could be better than random chance, as it doesn't beat the odds. No I'm not taking the things you say t

Seeing patterns where none exist
Prometheus said that the probability of tossing 30 Heads in a row was over 3 Billion to one. According to T.C. if he showed up on the 29th. toss he would buy a quick- pick, and have just a good a chance as anyone. Most of the people on this forum have a real hard time understanding that. Yes, the odds on the 29th toss are still Fifty- percent, and the odds are the same a million tosses from now, still fifty percent but that 30th toss is no fifty-per cent proposition bet. The chances are, shall

Seeing patterns where none exist
Powerball (Since it went 1/53+1/42 in 2002)... #20 comes up as PB ONCE between Jackpot hits. It only skipped ONE time... it did hit as PB 28 times since 1997...27 times in non-jackpot winning weeks. No guarantees, of course... but I'm definitely going to be playing 20 as the PB for a few weeks... and as soon as it comes out I'm switching to 35... a bit harder to define than 20, but it has been the PB as many times as 20 since 10/9/2002.Not rocket science, just observation based on the draw histor

Math and probability help or not ?
Quote: Originally posted by Prometheus1 on July 06, 2003 If, one day you buy a quick pick with 123 on it and someone advises you exchange it because 123 had just come in that order the last 2 days in a row, do it. The odds are the same each day ofcourse and anything is possible, but probability says your chances are almost nill. Chances not odds. Let me see I'm following you P. Because 123 came up the 2 previous draws, chances are, it won't come out the third draw. So therefore, any of

V-Dude's 10 ticket theory
V-Dude may be on to something. When the jackpot gets really large V-Dude buys 10 tickets with the same number set. It makes sense if you think about it. The increase in your odds between buying one ticket and buying 10 tickets is insignificant. However, the odds of sharing the jackpot increases when the jackpot gets very large. So if you do win you get a much bigger share of the jackpot. (of course, everyone would be mad and call you greedy, but who cares, you're rich)

Buckeye 5~6/12
RJOH,sorry for the late reply to your question. Primarily, intuition. As I was scanning the past wins for one year, there seemed to have been a lack of heavy number pairs from 21-36. I have seen this happen last year and took a shot at it. I am still seeing the same setup with these fifteen numbers and will only sprinkle a few single digit numbers to either balance the odds and evens or to put more emphasis towards the odd number set (four odds and one even.)
