Winning the Jackpot Prize
askjeeves, my point was WHY does this happen? Why does the person buying one ticket win while the 14 million ticket purchaser loses? What makes one person a winner and the other a loser? It can't be the odds. cuz the 14 million ticket purchaser should have won, strictly statisticaly speaking. Right? So something else is going on.So, by your definition, valid is something physical, tangible? Any mental or emotional reason is invalid? If so, than the *odds* is invalid because it is a mental concep

OHIO Lotto $33 million Wed 4/30
I'm not aware of any changes being proposed yet, a survey was made with some suggested changes nothing more. I am surprise there was no winner, it the kind of odds and jackpot amount that the pool players look for. I'll get another chance to win. I will have to adjust the perameters of my picks. I matched 3 + bonus for $5. I didn't pick any numbers that had matched 4 before. The best that list of 300 numbers that I posted last week did was 5 match 3's and 1 match 3 +b for $5 and 5 free pi

what is the best system for 3&4 digit?
>The odds of that same digit falling in that postion is 1:10. The odds of a different digit falling in that position is 9:10. This is effective until we reach the 50/50 Threshold, 5:10. If a digit/number repeates before that threshold, It is due to bias. Most of the time it is due to Natural Bias. Only by looking at the big picture can we verify for certain whether it was natural or mechanical, ie; the digits that preceeded the beginning cutoff.>I didn't quite understand that, could you ex

Mega Millions getting boring
>Cash option? Of course...but I would replace BOTH the 6/42 and 6/49 with a _single_ jackpot game (perhaps 6/47 or 6/48).I'm all for dumping 6/49 MassMillions, but they should keep Megabucks 6/42 as it is. If they had a single game with even worse odds than Megabucks, I would give it up and only have a Mega Millions season ticket. After all, if I'm going to lose against impossible, absurd odds, I might as well do it going for $20 - 100 million and a jackpot that grows by a lot each time, and

Mega Millions getting boring
I know the Mass Megabuck MassMillions aren't generating the jackpots or attention they used to - probably due to a ban on advertising and the much, much larger Megamillions jackpots. I think to the average person odds of 1 in 5 million or 1 in 135 million are almost equally remote, so why not go for the really big money? If Mass really is one of the best run lotteries they should know it's time to make a few changes to kick some life into them. Cash option for jackpots.Double all lower prizes,

Mega Millions getting boring
If TX joins, maybe they'll hike the odds again...the same could be said for Powerball should TX join MUSL.

OHIO Lotto 6/49 Wed 4/23 $29m
You can add to the fact that the jackpot is $29M that the cash value is more than the odds of winning the jackpot with a dollar. The odds of winning is 1:14M and the cash value is $14.5M. This is the point where players and lottery pools that prefer to spend a hundred dollars or more will buy a few tickets. I will be surprised if the jackpot is not won within the next two draws.Ohio wants to change the game so it can attract more players without offering a large jackpot, maybe put a $5M cap

New York Lotto $45M
I'll try to play some sort of jackpot lottery every week. If the NY jackpot is $3M, I'll shift to MM because the minimum is $10M. I'll play NY Lotto over MM if NY Lotto's jackpot is greater. In the sense they are the same, I'll go with the NY Lotto since the odds of winning are higher.I don't usually look at the overall odss of winning anything (ie. $1, $2, or $3 prizes). I only look at the JACKPOT odds and the amount. That's whats important to me.

New York Lotto $45M
Jeeves:What I meant was that, from the debut of Mega Millions in May 2002 until late March, sales in NY were higher for Mega Millions than NY Lotto.I agree that the size of the jackpot is the most important factor in whether someone plays. As for the overall prize return, there are five prize levels in NY Lotto vs nine in Mega Millions. A 3/6 match in NY Lotto pays only $1; matching just the Mega Ball wins $2. The overall odds of winning are better in Mega Millions than in NY Lotto. Powerball ha

OhioSuperLoto 649P $23M... 04/12/03
To CASH Only,If you don't live near Ohio, don't play the Ohio lotteries, don't like them and don't plan to ever play them, why would you care about their format? I don't play lotteries on the east coast and don't waste any time getting upsetted about their rules.I hope Ohio listens to people who actually play their lotteries because over ten years ago, they listened to groups of none players who thought that more than $20M was too much for one winner and limited the amount that one winning ti
