What are the "odds"?
I been having some really crappy luck, so I decided to think smarter. So I began doing some filtering for one of the games I was dabbling in. It s a 6/54. If I divide the matrix of 54 numbers into three groups of 18, I get 1 - 18 19 36 And 37- 54 If we represent, 1-18 as the letter A, 19-36 as B, and 37-54 as C, What are the Odds that Group A DOES NOT APPEAR? As a comparison, so far in the last 1523 drawings, the amount of times that Group A did not appear is 123 ti

Bigger MM and PB Jackpots.
Bigger MM and PB jackpots drive sales. That's evident from the various sales reports lotteries, such as Texas, publicly post. However, many players aren't excited about $15 million or whatever anymore; jackpot fatigue. Doubling the price makes up for less sales during jackpot run ups; higher starting jackpot. While making the odds worse allows for more rollovers. Super-sized jackpots bring out players in droves. While that doesn't occur often, even if it's just once or twice per year, that

The USA's 'luckiest' lottery players may not be as lucky as they seem
On, Dec. 29, 2016, Clarance Jones did something that most Americans could scarcely imagine: He cashed-in 20 winning scratch-off tickets, collectively worth $21,000, one after the other. For the average lottery player, that would be the ultimate payday. For Jones, it was practically routine. In the past six years, the 79-year-old from Lynn, Mass., has won more than 7,300 lottery tickets, totaling $10.8 million. That establishes him, by far, as the luckiest lottery player in America. But

Will Any Lottery Offer a $100 Instant Scratch Off Ticket?
The vast majority of states that offer scratch tickets of a cost of over $10 or $20 per ticket do not over anything more expensive than a $30 ticket such as in my home state of Massachusetts. I have looked at the different state lottery websites and it appears that the state of Texas is the sole exception in selling a scratch ticket that costs more than $30 dollars as far as I can tell. I find that it is very doubtful that any state will sell such an expensive scratch ticket mainly due t

$430 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges on rollover
Not only is the jackpot odds worse, but the megaplier odds is far worse too. What many players don't know is that the current megaplier is tilted towards coming up 5X much of the time (good for the player) with 2X being the least likely. With the upcoming change, the 5X megaplier will be 6 times less likely to occur (worse for the player): Current Megaplier odds: 2X 1 in 7.5 3X 1 in 3.75 4X 1 in 5 5X 1 in 2.5 New Megaplier odds: 2X 1 in 3 3X 1 in 2.5 4X 1 in 5 5X 1

Back Testing Formulas
With adding the 3sum into the back testing, my overall odds of wining the minimum or greater has increased and it is higher then the posted overall odds. I was using Foxpro, but with the latest windows 10 updates, it has broken my backtesting program. I am rewriting it in Java (and learning java), and then I will have to redo all the backtesting. Basically I was using different seed values for a random number generator having it create a set of numbers (with certain checks) and see what % won an

Florida's ridiculous ball and machine testing scam
If the same digit is selected three times during the five draws, and Let's say 7 happens, then the probability it will repeat is 1/100 or 1% since there is only one way the 7 can repeat as 7 7; there are 99 other ways it does not. Wow!!! I'm assuming same digit means exactly that and when one of the 10 digits is selected three times in five draws, more tests are conducted. The odds of seven or any other digit being drawn are 10 to 1, where did you come up with the other 90 digits?

Anyone who would like to share their winning methods can do so here let's make this money
Any system, theory or strategy is good as long as it beats the odds. Now having said that let s look at the Pick-3 game, overall playing over a period of time you can argue that the odds are 50/50. Many states base their payout on this basis, for every dollar they take in they pay out half in wins and keep half. So therefore if you have a system that is beating that 50/50 rule you are or should be doing much better that the average Joe. Let me give you an example, say you play TEN (10)

pick-4 test
adulane62 I don't think there is much left to talk about, only a few states would have got close to a break even status and most would loose big. I think there are several states with enough hits to consider the list as beating the odds but it takes much more to make a profit. I don't know how much more I can do with this list as I think it's another failed idea. The odds are 1 in 10K for a P-4 and with the list of 470 lines played for 75 games the total cost would be $35,250. The

The secret to winning lottery with Scratch off's
If you did know within a certain threshold that certain book ranges would contain the jackpot tickets then you could increase your odds greatly. How? If the game and books were sent out sequentially yes, however they are taking the prints now and sending out the front with the back overage tickets to presell all the losers. Take for instance it doesn't matter that I can predict the section of tickets or books within a 15% range with a 80% probability, because why? Take for instance the l
