Yes, and still I maintain this position although I've kinda found my way around all that madness they implement. It's ridiculous. The states which conduct real, mechanical ball drawings procure their equipment from companies specializing in nothing but developing draw systems. These machines are already FACTORY tested, and tested, and tested, and then tested again before being certified. Oh, but then, the states somehow feel this isn't quite good enough and precede to test up to yet another (5) times before before labeling one of those draws as 'official.' The natural 'law of occurrence', based on Zipf's Law, clearly dictates that such a practice directly affects the would-be natural outcome of this event. It's about cause, effect, and repeatability which all influence probability and odds. I've done my research and have contacted top notch mathematicians with this argument and they ALL support my findings.

No, this isn't what they're supposedly looking for or trying to prevent because different arrangements of digits produce the same sums. To this day, no one has said a word to me about factoring root sums into any of the pick games...and I'm being 100% honest with you. With Pick 3, you have (4) sets of sums you can work with, okay. Positions 1&2, 2&3, 1&3, and then there's the entire sum for all three positions together. Same thing with Pick 4. If you'll look at Texas' Pick 3 draw results page, you'll see where the same sum repeats twice fairly frequently. Then, have a look at the Morning Pre-Test Results for 6/16/2018 (today) where two different groups of sums consumed (4) of the pre-tests. They could could care less about this because the thing they want to control-manage is the outcome based on your last sentence.

Mind you, this is AFTER the state in question has ALREADY conducted their up to (5) pre-tests. So, after a total (10) pre-tests, that same digit pair returns AGAIN. My response is purposely a bit lengthy because I wanted to substantiate my reasoning on these issues you raised...and I'm glad you brought them up.

The point I'm trying to make is regardless whether or not the test drawings effect the real drawing, the Texas Lottery almost goes over-board testing their equipment. And that being said, if there is a true relationship between the three digits drawn on a specific date and how those digits actually predicts future pick-4 drawings, the over the top testing people should be testing to prevent that.

I asked you because of your knowledge of Texas Lotteries testing procedures and my opinion most of these "systems" are nothing more than primitive RNG. IMO if there is a relationship between the pick-3 and future pick-4 drawings, it's random.

Yes, although in some states you may need to test and not do step 1.

It's no guarantee but it helps improve your odds.

As far as the lottery testing procedures are concerned, all you have to do is go on you tube to watch them. Pick a state, if there's a video for it you can watch it.

As for pulling a ball set, if the same number comes up in the same position 3 out of 5 times, they will do it three more times. If the number comes up 2 out of the 3, they will pull the ball set. (But its perfectly fine when that happens in the "official" drawing. What's the difference?)

I guess they think someone might have tampered with the balls. But with all the security they have you have to wonder how that would be possible. They weigh the balls before and after each drawing. If someone did something, there would a difference in the weight from the last time they weighed them. My feeling is they are trying to control the outcome by trying to upset the normal flow or randomness of the numbers.

If they're not, then you don't need all the pre-tests given all the security in place.

Before you play there are 2 choices to make. Low sum or high sum and consecutive pair or no consecutive pair. Choose correctly and you go from 120 combos down to 30. Not a bad starting point.

They don’t do that. They don’t,”control the outcome”, that is not their goal. As long as the procedures are done in a consistent manner with no thoughts or theories of controlling the outcome, there is no concern. I missed two straights on the win4 the other day, same day, both of them. Thing was it was a 1 day delay, and at least a $40 bet each draw, I made it $50 (rundowns and pairs) I guessed I was wrong the day before. I guessed wrong. I would’ve made over six on it for a couple hundred. But I only spent $100 instead. It still happened, exactly, same time just different day. The theories of pre-testing do not apply to math. The theory of what fits however does. Sometimes that is a hard theory to understand. Math is good way to help correlate ideas and patterns. But you can get lost for sure.

Sometimes you do the right thing just because it’s right.

Life's a game of mathematics, if you can't figure that out I don't know what to tell you.

This debate has taken place countless times over the years here at LP with some finally coming into realization that ANYTIME you tinker with numbers, the law of repeatability-law of occurrence is affected. Others, however, maintain that the pre-tests have absolutely zero impact on the official draws. How can they not, though, when all those same digits-combinations were STILL DRAWN? Just because the lottery entities simply label those draws as pre-tests does not render them as non-impacting. We're dealing with cause and effect here. To drive my point home, I'll refer you to something very basic that you should refrain from doing if drawing numbers out, in general, doesn't matter. When you're ready to assemble your list of possible numbers to play, the first thing you do is refer right back to the last official draw because you want to know what took place LAST, right? Well, there was also another 'last' right before what they dubbed as their official draw...right? There are up to (5) consecutive last draws right before the next official draw and this is what a percentage of people say doesn't matter. Okay.

Yes but my point is one argument can be made for the actual drawn number changing due to pretests , but at the same time or on the same side of the same coin the opposite argument could be made for the actual drawn number. Whether this number or that number comes up, there will still be a winner no matter what. So the argument in my opinion will for ever go in circles. As long as the tests are not done in a biased way, meaning not choosing these 3 numbers or 4 numbers on purpose over another set of 3 or 4 numbers, then the game is still fair.

This looks like a very promising system. I understand roots. But if the number is a double digit do we get the root sum?

Michigan's last night drawing was 493, that equals 16. Should I just use the 6 or break it down to 7 (1+6)?

Okay, thanks. For some odd reason, when I do lottery, and I have a double digit sum, the addition of the two digits, I call it root sum (RS). But root is the correct term. Thanks again! Time to do some back tracking and see how it goes for MI

You were right the first time. Root Sum is the correct term, but if you just say "Root," we'll know what you mean.
