Congrats to the lucky Grandma.

I've been playing my kids' and wife's birthday numbers for years too.

The only problem is I think it gets thrown off track when I change wives.

I'm in a quandary as of late because one of my ex's from a few wives back, her birthday numbers seem to come up a lot.

It somehow feels a little disconcerting though, playing her numbers and not my current wife's.

But I'll get over it.

I'm happy for the Mamaw but I was also delighted to hear that another avowed boozer has won the Jackpot also after buying their ticket at Junior Liquor.

It's possible that September could go down as the month of the boozer if this keeps up.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Someone in her family was born on the 32nd?How can this be?

She probly thowed that one in there to avoid splittin' with a bunch of birthday number playin' nuts.

And it worked - except for splittin' with a boozer.

She probably played their birth dates and ages because I see a 32.

I'm happy for her, and hope her and her family will be happier with this money.

It must have been the sixth Saturday in February, duh, the 32nd !    

The article says: 1) "Audelia Ramirez of Alhambra, California, won the sizable lottery fortune by using her children and grandchildren's birthdays to pick the winning numbers." and 2) "The winning California SuperLotto Plus numbers for the Aug. 31, 2011, drawing were: 2, 22, 27, 31, 32, with Mega Ball number 11."

Based on these two premises, am I forced to conclude that there are 32 days in a month? .

Systems and methods are alright but often it comes down to the primal hunch or just being in the right place at the right time.  Congrats to her!

You are too funny rdgrnrAnyone who's played consistently has played birthday numbers and she was just lucky enough to win this time; it is just the "luck of the draw".  It's nothing new but just good PR from the CA Lottery to state she won on her children's/grandchildren's birthday;  I've played birthday numbers on Fantasy 5/SL for over 15 years and will do so until I hit big, which I will!!

Congratulations to this jackpot winner. Why did the California Super Lotto Plus Jackpot raised $2 million from $16 million on Saturday August 27th to $18 million on Wednesday August 31st?

Could it be because nobody hit it on Saturday August 27th?

I think the previous poster wondered why the rollover jackpot starts increasing by 2 million instead of 1 million per draw.  The answer is that the jackpot rollover always follows this pattern.

Wow!...There is a member here named bigtime..Been here sense July of 2010? but never posted..tiggs will sue anyway!!..So be verly verly careful...

A couple of years ago, I played a set of numbers based on my wedding anniversary and played them for a Powerball drawing with PowerPlay on my anniversary.  It won me $400 and if I had bumped one digit up one, it would have been $40,000.  Even so, I was happy with my win.

I play a line of birthdays on every game I play and I know they'll come in some day.

Whether that will happen in my lifetime is the question, lol.
