Marriage/Alimony and how it affects lottery winners
A marriage is a 3-way contract between you, the spouse, and the state you live in and or get divorced in. The state you live in will determine the rules of prenupts, community property, divorce, alimony, child support, etc. Your options living in NM will differ than your options living in TX, therefore the answer is it depends where you live. As an aside, your future ex-wife could spend 3 days in Nevada and file for and be granted a divorce from you there.

Can he/she sue me?
I think the key is just for kicks . That could be a verbal agreement meaning just for the hell of it. Doesn't mean a share of it, but it has to be what was said at the time. Also whether this friend agreed to be happy with the promise of a new Dodge Charger if YOU win such as I win as you stated and be happy with the car when told I , such as you , will buy you a new car if I win , not if we win. I'm no lawyer but I have seen first hand the way a lawyer can turn the simple word or words yo

Can he/she sue me?
Although there is such a thing as a verbal contract, the Lottery rules are usually very clear. If you are the ticket bearer and your signature is on the back, it's your money. We've had debates here about finding a ticket, etc., but in this case, if you paid for it and the surveillance camera shows you as the buyer, I don't see how he can have a case at all. By the way, if a friend of mine picked 3 numbers and I won, I'd probably split the jackpot. After all, there are only 5 numbers and the

Kentucky Lottery reports record revenues, lower profits
The Kentucky Lottery brought in record revenues despite a souring economy, an audit released Wednesday showed. The audit of the Kentucky Lottery showed that the lottery brought in $778.2 million up about 4.6 percent from the previous year but its profits were down about 2.7 percent. That's because the lottery increased its prize payouts to players and paid higher retailer commissions. But the amount of money the lottery paid to state scholarship programs, including the Kentucky Educational

Help Please: Similarities between Lottery & Insurance: my last post for 2008
my goal, you see in life insurance if you pay a monthly payment after 20 or 30 years whenever you die you are guaranteed that your kids or loved ones will get something; a large sum....And the thing is How can the lottery do the same thing, that after 30 years of paying 2 dollars per ticket per drawing for 30 years or less or whenever the luck strickes you that the person playing 2 dollars is guaranteed to be a winner....But maybe taking age into account, and perhaps also making the person that
