Hoosier Lottery
Guru, I am on a mission! A mission to expose what I believe is a crooked and corrupt lottery. i.e The Hoosier Lottery. As to sales figures and payout information...well I don't think a cirizen of this state should have to go undercover and plant bugs to get information that is suppossed to be in the public domain. Besides...as I am not a law enforcement agent but am instead just a common citizen I really don't want to go to jail for bugging or infiltrating Hoosier Lottery's Headquarters

Hoosier Lotto Will Be Won on August 11 ...
Jim, As much as I admire the effort you and Jeff have put forth...and as much as I agree with (most) of your comments...if the Foreman Scratch-Off scandal taught us anything...it taught us that nobody...and I mean NOBODY from the Hoosier Lottery will ever go to jail for any of their misdeeds. This guy was caught red handed. His accomplices (i.e. his partners in crime)...who were not employees of the Hoosier Lottery were forced to plead guilty in plea bargain that gave authorities all the

Is this true?
This is why you contract an attorney to go with you to claim your prize. Anytime people see an attorney is involved they are less likely to piddle around with stupid little questions trying to trip someone up. Like say that your 12 year old gave you the numbers but you bought the ticket.... yeah they might try to make a deal out of that as well. An attorney can step in during awkward questions and say stuff like they're just trying to make sense of all of this they're in a state of pleas

After a $100 Million jackpot win, how would you deal with family?
How about this. Draw up a contract stating if they ask for more money then their yearly gift of $12000 will be void. Make them sign it before giving them the $12000. If they don't sign it don't give them $12000. Warning!!! You will be hated. lol I can live with that.

People in front of you dictating lots of numbers to the clerk...
the places i go have no problem with putting in my numbers or anyone else's. It not like a gas station or some other place that has long lines i might be there only customer in the place at the time i am getting my picks. And i usually give whomever is doing the job a buck so they can either buy a pick or put it in their tip jar. A buck for 2 or 3 minutes of work is a good salary. as i stated i go out of my way to find place with low traffic so as not to tie up one's primary business. You see

What is your ticket checking ritual?
1) - 1000 is NOTHING - they get paid no matter what so half of them don't care (and half do care). 2) - It depends on a lot of things 3) - They NEVER draft slouches (sic), but once a guy gets a nice signing bonus, and a guaranteed contract, 3/4 don't care anymore... 4) - No, it's not.

N.M. Senate votes to shift more lottery funds to scholarships
This issue has been around in NM since before the Lottery even started up. There are a lot of areas where they can trim expenses - for example they are top heavy in staff for their size. They will also look to wring cost concessions from whoever wins their new online system contract. That said, I always hate to see a minimum % to beneficiaries requirement. Beneficiaries spend dollars - not percentages. The ONLY way this lottery can hit 30%, given its very big geographical size and low popu

Lottery groups
Scribble a contract, get the money in advance, and if you are doing quick-picks, buy 2 drawings' worth at a time, but no more than that. $5/week x 4 = $20.00, 2 drawings a week mean you are buying 10 tickets per drawing. Powerball, that is. SIGN the ticket as soon as you buy it. And all must realize - you may NEVER win. Ever. Don't do it unless this is a long-term proposition, all too many times folks in pools quit after a couple of weeks because 'they haven't won anything'.

Jack Whittaker: un-luckiest lottery winner ever
The poor guy lost his hat, his shaver, and some mad artist deleted his wife! I don't believe in hiding from the public and even in the worst of times I don't advocate jumping from bridges (even with a bungee cord I would not) - is Mayor Bloomberg or Bill Gates, or the Soccer player just give a $250M contract, or Howard Stern (just got another 85 million) hiding from the public? They don't have to because they make it known they are hard targets and they don't hang out at the Pony or the Bing.
