I got a touch of lotto fever today but that didn't last long. I have a feeling that if my work pool wins we'll be one of those groups that'll be in court for the next 5 years. Abraham is dead because DeeDee was greedy and he was uneducated. Jack Whitakker's granddaughter is dead because she's a drug addict and he thought showering a drug addict with money was a smart decision. Considering that Jack still plays the lottery, he obviously doesn't hold the same view on his win that you do. Jack was given a lot of advice, including some from law enforcement that he opted not to take. That wasn't the lottery's fault. That wasn't the money's fault. That was his fault.

Sorry, but absolutely the lottery is partly to blame. I know of no successful business that has no deadline requirements. This is essentially a business enterprise handling millions of dollars which had nothing in its contract saying the state MUST pay out funds within a set period of time. They have a system set up to keep collecting funds no matter what financial upheaval the state is in, but that same system isn't set up to disburse the funds within a contractually designated timeframe.
