Mississippi Lottery halts Cash 3 triple payout promotion one week in
Thanks Todd
Has any other state lottery suspended sales for a game because of too many winners?
Everything about this promotion is weird where a game with a house edge of 50% is flipped so the players have a 50% edge.

Mississippi Lottery halts Cash 3 triple payout promotion one week in
Apparently the Mississippi Lottery doesn't employ anyone that understands a pick 3 game. Especially when syndicates are spending millions in some states to buy every lotto game combination for a guaranteed jackpot with the only risk of splitting it was other winning tickets.
Mississippi players could spend $1000 and get a guaranteed $500 win. Most states have limits on the total amount the will pay out, but doesn't change the win for anyone wagering $1000 before the limit was reached.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Any guesses as to the next increase for the Measly Millions, should a rollover happen tomorrow night ?
Another $40 Million ??
Another $40M would bring it to $794M.
I bet they will go to at least $800M, that is a $46M increase. And that should unfold an even higher increase announced Tuesday night (if jackpot is not hit) for the following Friday (Fridays sales are larger than Tuesdays, so the increase leading to a Friday is significantly larger then the one leading to a Tuesday).

Three $1 million winning Powerball lottery tickets sold at the same New York store
QP's or chosen numbers ? Makes a difference
What time frame were they purchased on Monday ? Within a minute or 2 ? Spread out through the day?
If they were QP's ,what does that say about about massive repeat number sales from machines or was it done solely by this machine ? Last I knew, the machines were RNG.
Perhaps I missed something in the story.

New Millionaire for Life multi-state game coming in 2026
With regard to what we know how Mega Millions is performing, and that move from a $2 to a $5 price point, we are going to be taking a really close look at how we message that , how that is provided to the player and the sales agents, Charpentier concluded.
Lipstick on a pig, Anne. We players aren't fooled one bit by blatant lies and deceptive practices of the MUSL.
It is so simple..... Go back to the $1 game where the odds were roughly 1/305M for the jackpot.
Stop trying to reinve

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I know about that. I just don't understand why people would play a game where they don't know what the prize will be.
The exact amount of the jackpot isn't known until ticket sales cut-off time, but they are able to advertise an amount that is very accurate.
$7 million or $171,000, now that is a massive difference.

Tickets Sales
The .com that shall not be named has a lotto report (without the space) that has a format that lets you see, and easily copy to a spreadsheet, the columns for date, sales and advertised jackpot. You can find even more stuff, though not formatted for easy copying, here:

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
There's that increase to 1.4! I agree I think it's going to end up between 1.45 and 1.5 tonight. Saturday is projected at 1.7 but I'll be surprised if it's not between 1.8 and 1.9
My thinking is the out of ordinary factor is when people are nervous about the economy, lottery sales increase, we also haven't had a jackpot over 1B for awhile so there isn't the burn out. And personally I'm putting money I would have spent on mega into PB instead so a lot of other people probably are too. Me

I am thankful we have no state income tax. But we do have sales tax that does allow each county to charge a certain max figure. So with the state tax and the county tax, the total due is 9.75%.... Groceries are at 6.25%
* BTW Montana does the same as Idaho. Mandatory $3 for the PB with the forced purchase of the multiplier. Just talked with a friend who's out vacationing in the big sky country yesterday. I suggested he buy some PB tickets. He did grab a few and said each one is the minimal $3
