Co-workers sue British Columbia man who won $1 million lottery prize
From the article Meat provided the only fact is Hung collected the winnings and left town.
Here's a fun fact: The lawsuit states the workers had a verbal agreement but that because of their friendship, they didn t think they needed to write up a contract.
Are contradictory facts something like alternative facts ?

Would you join a lottery pool consisting solely of family members?
It's just me and my brother, so I would say yes.
As for others, as long as you make copies of the tickets and have a written and notarized contract detailing the distribution of winnings, I see no problem with that. It would be treated like any other pool between non-family members.
But that's just my

Why would the state Atty. General do anything about it? Of course not, he gets paid from state lottery money as it goes in to the General Fund earmarked for education (I heave read the amendments from when the lottery was first created).
It will take the Feds to step in so that we can get an investigation and clean house in order to get a fair and just lottery like other states (feds make $$ off of fines imposed on states). Someone is being paid off......starting with the auditing firm of

Aunt threatens to sue nephew over lottery jackpot
Word by mouth means nothing. You know that and everyone else knows that.
The world is full of people who know all sorts of things that they're wrong about. Most verbal contracts have just as much force as written contracts. With the exception of a few things where contracts must be in writing to be enforced the only problem with verbal contracts is that it's usually difficult or impossible to prove what the contract was.
It's a pretty safe bet that the people whose names appear on a lott

Massachusetts official warns lottery could become "irrelevant"
One day I'll contact IGT again to see how the modernization of lottery machines is going in Massachusetts. Remember seeing the one that the lady who won the largest ever lottery? That's what I'm talking about, old, noisy dot matrix. Can barely read my Season Tickets.
BTW IGT got awarded the contract to handle sports betting @ the Borgata Casino and Resort. I'm partial of course to IGT and Borgata flew 22 of us from Cincinnati there for free flight/hotel room. That is one fine casino, we loved

CT Lottery security chief on paid leave following review of botched raffle draw
Amazing how the state (and everyone involved - auditors, unions ect) can turn something as simple as firing the idiots who messed up into a giant mess!!! Sad that we are in such a deny society and no one steps up to take responsibility for what they do anymore.
A side note on the auditors. I would hope the contact with them would have it spelled out that their job is to AUDIT the process of the drawing. And failure in that one area is grounds for non payment and immediate termination. Thus th

N.J. lawmakers trying to meddle with lottery's new Keno game
New Jersey lawmakers on Thursday considered overhauling a new keno-style lottery game that the bill's sponsor worries will draw business away from Atlantic City's casinos.
The Democrat-led Assembly gaming committee heard testimony on legislation that would essentially gut how Quick Draw is played, reducing its drawings from every five minutes to just twice daily.
The legislation comes about six months after the lottery, which has struggled to meet revenue projections in recent years, unvei

Lottery Post Systems and Winning
I highly doubt lotteries are scouting us here at LP. Not to say lottery officials don't ever visit (they certainly do; was in a LP chat with one a couple of years back), but likely just in passing verses collecting any meaningful research data. If lotteries were truly acting on what was posted on LP, there would be a lot more changes than there are...
Heck, there was a marketing research person seeking out people to take surveys, supposedly on behalf of the Ohio and New Mexico Lotteries, a fe

New Mexico House committee endorses changes in lottery operations
Financial bonuses for state lottery officials and contractors would be tied to increases in scholarship money available to New Mexico college students under a bill that got unanimous bipartisan approval from a House committee Monday.
House Bill 250, sponsored by Rep. Jason Harper, R-Rio Rancho, also would require the state lottery to transfer money from unclaimed cash prizes usually $2 million to $4 million a year to the lottery scholarships fund.
In addition, the bill would halt a pilot p
