The problem with waiting to the last possible moment to collect your winnings is that the lotto brings the story to the press about the winning ticket having limited time to be claimed and thus the whole story gets regurgitated and such. This poll doesn't explicitly state, but I assume you are referring to the cutoff time for posting numbers on Lottery Post's Predictions Board ? If so, the cutoff time is one hour before the draw time, in order to prevent people from gaming the system. Just updated the guide with Maryland's raffle! I did see the press release about it launching today, but I was not sure if there was an announcement about it earlier since I originally did not find anything about it in my research. Interestingly, the last time Maryland had a raffle was back in 2007 , which had 420,000 tickets for sale and offered four $1 million top prizes. Yay for Maryland for getting a raffle again!

From Sarasota I sent my $1K win to Ft Myers and the turnaround has always been very quick.
