Unprecedented move by the AZ lottery, delaying the expiration date of the ticket in question. This opens up a whole lot of questions as to the expiration date of future tickets when there is a dispute in collecting winnings. Did not need to go down this path. Let the ticket expire. What does authority mean? Even a town justice has extremely broad authority until a higher court (or the state board of judicial conduct) steps in. The judge can certainly order the lottery to extend the claim period but the lottery can appeal and potentially have a higher court allow them to follow their usual rules almost as soon as the ink is dry on the lower court's order. I doubt the lottery has the ability to extend the claim

He says do not sign it. I think signing it with some bs comment would be hilarious to watch since the delay would be serious and likely end up in court.
If he goes into a lottery meeting where there is a dispute and litigation is possible, he said he brings a litigation attorney with him. Smart move. So obviously an established litigator known and barred in that state.

Named in the lawsuit or subpoenaed as a witness? It might be useful to have the original prospective buyer testify that the reports that they requested all of the tickets but chose not to buy some of them are correct, but AFAIK they've never come forward (or why the need to use the debit card to identify them?) to assert a claim of ownersh
