Unprecedented move by the AZ lottery, delaying the expiration date of the ticket in question. This opens up a whole lot of questions as to the expiration date of future tickets when there is a dispute in collecting winnings. Did not need to go down this path. Let the ticket expire. End of dispute and controversy.

Circle K asks judge to delay expiration date for $12.8 million Arizona Lottery jackpot amid dispute
Is it even possible that the judge has the authority to ... What does authority mean? Even a town justice has extremely broad authority until a higher court (or the state board of judicial conduct) steps in. The judge can certainly order the lottery to extend the claim period but the lottery can appeal and potentially have a higher court allow them to follow their usual rules almost as soon as the ink is dry on the lower court's order. Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
Omg. Lol lol. Best comment of the month. Do not give ideas to these nuts. He says do not sign it. I think signing it with some bs comment would be hilarious to watch since the delay would be serious and likely end up in court. So obviously an established litigator known and barred in that state.

Canadian man charged with theft, fraud after claiming $1M lottery prize meant for three winners

I don't know what Encore is, except that it's an extra cost add-on that offers other/more ways/chances to win. If the plain vanilla free ticket wouldn't have won then his decision to buy the Encore option is the reason the tic

Arizona Lottery delays expiration date of $12.8 million jackpot-winning ticket in legal battle
Kreamer said that he would sign an order that would compel the bank to come forward with those details so that the key party can be named in the lawsuit. Named in the lawsuit or subpoenaed as a witness? It might be useful to have the original prospective buyer testify that the reports that they requested all of the tickets but chose not to buy some of them are correct, but AFAIK they've never come forward (or why the need to use the debit card to identify them?) to assert a claim of ownersh
