We analyzed 41 states — 17% of scratch-offs on sale right now have zero top prizes left
Been running ScratchSmarter for 15 years, pulling daily prize data from official lottery sites across 41 states. We just published a full analysis on something we're calling the Dead Zone games where every top prize has been claimed but the lottery keeps selling them at full price. The national number: 579 of 3,348 active games (17.3%) are in the Dead Zone right now. Worst states: - Wisconsin: 54.5% (55 of 101 games) - Oregon: 53.1% (51 of 96 games) - Vermon

Ohio: 4/1 - 4/30/2026
I see what you mean now. The Ohio Lottery achievements on their app. If I have found one, it was from playing one of the Set for Life games. That is the only scratch-offs that I have been playing.

Anti Computerized Lottery Petition
Lotteries make buckets of money. The cost of doing live ball drawings is a sliver of the ticket price. I'm boycotting RNG games starting now. That means no more Millionaire for Life. All of Colorado's in-state draw games are RNG. I already put their ticket vending machines on my ban list, so there's almost nothing here for me to play because stores have such a limited selection of scratch offs. I encourage everyone to boycott and force these people to end every RNG game.

EXCLUSIVE: Weeks-long computerized draw error prevented many DC Lottery tickets from winning a prize
YES they do! But also they see them (ball drawings) as a added EXPENSE that they can cut. In todays business world people get a bonus when they find ways to CUT costs. Marketing for lotteries seems to have been cut across the board. They just keep creating more expensive games (especially scratch offs) just putting out a press release for marketing. Until sales drop they will not go back to ball drawings. Thanks again for doing what you do in contacting them! How long would this have g

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I think they're doing a raffle as just a way to shake it up and try something different. Raffles do well in other states, so maybe they can catch on here too. I'd think that a first or second time (in so many years) might fly under the radar, but bring awareness to this new way to play after it concludes and later if a new round begins. This round would advertise the next, so to speak, as people who didn't play hear about the winnings. A loss of revenue once isn't a loss if it becomes a spri

Once homeless, now a lottery winner: Colorado man gets his $1 million comeback
Tough sales day leads to a big break in luck By Kate Northrop What seemed like an impossible situation is now one Colorado man's reality after he successfully lifted himself out of homelessness and proceeded to win $1 million in the lottery. A formerly homeless Colorado man worked to remove himself from his unfortunate circumstances, and in doing so indirectly won a $1 million lottery prize. Jonathan G. was having a tough sales day while working as a cell phone representative. He

Once homeless, now a lottery winner: Colorado man gets his $1 million comeback
It's nice to see the Colorado Lottery in the news. I've played the 200X game a few times. One time I won $50. He's been playing scratch-off games on and off for a few years, he told the Colorado Lottery, but only when he could afford to . Jonathan will usually stick to the $5 games, recalling that the largest amount he'd ever won was $20. ... I was having a tough sales day , and it actually paid off, Jonathan recalled. My reaction was total disbelief. Those are oppos

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I've rethought my ticket buying strategy..... I decided to buy one raffle ticket per week in June. I'm gambling that there wont be a ticket buying frenzy during June. If there is a frenzy, no harm done. If there isn't one, I figured I'd be better off with more tickets in my hand than not. I stopped in a RaceTrack today and bought ticket number 2984XX. BTW I was shocked when I ordered one Florida Millionaire Raffle ticket and the clerk responded with You want MegaMillions? She had never sold

is it luckier to buy tickets on the rich side of town?
This is a classic question in sociology and applied economics, and the answer is well-documented by demographic studies and market research in the United States (such as data from the Brookings Institution, the Tax Foundation, and various state lotteries). The direct answer is: people from all social classes play, but the financial impact, frequency, and motivation are profoundly different between the poorest and the wealthiest. Here is the breakdown of how lottery consumption

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Wanted to update/correct my previous figures, as for some reason I thought there were only three interim prize periods, and there are actually four. Bottom line, 640,900 tickets need to be sold to fund all prizes to be awarded in the Raffle (interim prizes and Grand Prizes.) The duration of the raffle is 122 days, so sales need to average 5,245 tix a day. Based on the Lottery's figure of 169,906 tix sold as of 4/17 , sales are averaging 3,540 tix/day so far. Hard to say if sales will pick up or
