Winner of $877,800 Idaho Cash jackpot is infamous bulk buyer
Idaho legislation moves along bill to ban bulk lottery ticket purchases By Kate Northrop The Idaho Lottery's initial suspicions that a bulk purchaser was at play during a jackpot run that resulted in an $877,800 Idaho Cash win were correct when it was confirmed that an entity known for executing jackpot buyouts came forward to claim the prize. In response to restless national sentiment surrounding the nature of jackpot buyouts and a recent $877,800 Idaho Cash win, Idaho state legisla

Iowa Lottery has delivered $6.1B in prizes since 1985
In closely related news, Iowa lottery players have lost more than $6 billion since 1985. The average payout might be better than 50% if some (usually scratch games) pay more, but even if the average payout is 60% paying out $6 billion would mean players lost $4 billion. Not all of that would be profit, but operating costs shouldn't be all that high, and they'd also have collected some income tax on winnings and the salaries of everybody who works for the lottery.

Iowa Lottery has delivered $6.1B in prizes since 1985
Iowa Lottery celebrates 40 years Sales of the first Iowa Lottery tickets began in 1985 with a kickoff celebration at the Iowa State Fair. Forty years later, state fairgoers broke the Guinness World Record for the most people 1,380 to scratch lottery cards simultaneously, demonstrating the lottery's journey from $1 scratch tickets to a multibillion-dollar enterprise. Since its launch was approved by the state Legislature and signed into law by then-Gov. Terry Branstad, the lottery has gen

I'm done playing the lottery
I rarely play draw games. The house edge is ridiculous and the odds of winning are absurd. Usually I play the scratch-off games, and I am particular about which ones. When a certain game is only available at that stupid vending machine that has made its way on my ban list, I'm left with nothing to play. Yesterday, before I started this thread, I went to the convenience store down the street and tried to buy the $3 ka-pow bingo. They had none. This idiotic state lottery makes way too many

Been running ScratchSmarter for 15 years, pulling daily prize data from official lottery sites across 41 states. We just published a full analysis on something we're calling the Dead Zone games where every top prize has been claimed but the lottery keeps selling them at full price. Ohio: 4/1 - 4/30/2026
I see what you mean now. The Ohio Lottery achievements on their app. If I have found one, it was from playing one of the Set for Life games. That is the only scratch-offs that I have been playing.

What's Your Strategy for Playing a New Draw Game?
With the new Millionaire for Life game I'm trying to decide whether to spend a lot on the first draw, or wait a while. Do you think there's any chance the JP will be won right off? I know a few scratch buyers who always rush to buy new scratchers when they first come out, but haven't heard any opinions on draw games.

Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
YES, Delaware is a small state and does not have the players like other states. I lived close enough to play in Delaware and you could definitely tell they didn't have the players Maryland did. I am sure they want to 'protect' their scratch off games so players spend on those instead.

Anti Computerized Lottery Petition
Lotteries make buckets of money. The cost of doing live ball drawings is a sliver of the ticket price. I'm boycotting RNG games starting now. That means no more Millionaire for Life. All of Colorado's in-state draw games are RNG. I already put their ticket vending machines on my ban list, so there's almost nothing here for me to play because stores have such a limited selection of scratch offs. I encourage everyone to boycott and force these people to end every RNG game.

Question about online lotteries
Can only speak for the Kentucky's online lottery. Mostly play 4 minute Keno, but have played some of the daily games. Probably the most asked question is about collecting winnings. With any winnings over $600, they'll send a check or players can collect at the lottery headquarters the next day. It's easy depositing funds into a player account using the same methods for most online purchases. Only winnings can be withdrawn so I wouldn't suggest anyone depositing too much money at one time. P
